Getting Toddlers To Behave: Overcoming The Challenge

Toddlers are the exact definition of grinding without putting the lid! They can be such a mess at times, that you feel so exhausted and completely tired after spending just a few hours with them. So, if you are tired of researching and trying to find out what you can do to get your toddlers to behave; then you are in the right spot! We spoke to some of the best psychiatrists in town and this is what they had to say:

“Keep them occupied”
The best tip, according to most of the psychiatrists we interviewed is to keep the child busy. When a child is busy doing something, they forget to be naughty. You can draw up a planner and have a schedule of what you are going to do with them. This will make life so much easier for you, because as the parent you will not only be in control but you will also know what you will be doing next. Make sure that you have fun and involving activities planned for toddlers because keeping them occupied with a single task for some time is no easy task!

“Attend to them at once! They seek attention”
When you feel like your little one is going to burst, then you need to at once stop it before it can happen. The thing about toddlers is that they tend to forget easily. And you can make them to even forget to throw a fit. And most often toddlers throw tantrums to seek your attention. There are times when they will throw a tantrum in a store to maybe to get you to buy the kids outdoor play equipment that may be unaffordable to you.

“Appreciate their good work”
Even little ones as little as 6 months love when they see you clap when they do something. It is in fact in human nature to expect others to appreciate them for things they think should be appreciated. And when it comes to toddlers even doing some activity climber play gym, should be appreciated by their parents and siblings. Always ensure that you appreciate every little thing they do. And they will automatically start listening to everything you tell. Because for the toddlers impressing their parents is almost the most important thing in their tiny lives!

“Don’t ever compare!”
Toddler or adolescent, the worst thing any parent can do is to compare him or her with another child. It is very self-destructive and causes bad feelings such as jealousy in the hearts of those little ones. This a very important pointer that all parents should keep in mind, don’t compare your children with others, they are better in their own way! Every child is unique!activity-climber-play-gym
